We run programmes
helping people to adopt non violence
as a way of living
Supportative field
work and coaching is a key and
unique element of our work.
District teams assess the best way
to carry this out and develop their
own plans for this.
Where
possible we set aside some money for
community initiatives to allow
people to put their learning into
practise. We do not use the promise
of community initiatives money to
encourage people to take part in
programmes
We will look for
opportunities to work with people
who have the power to influence
communities, such as local
politicians, and include them within
the scope of our projects
We provide
psychosocial support where we
identify a need in the project
planning stage, training our staff
specifically for this as required.
Where we identify a need for
pychosocial support at a later date,
we see our work as preparing the
ground for this.
We are not and do
not wish to be a development agency
and will be honest about this with
participants, donors and other
stakeholders.
All PCA staff will
try to practise non violent
approaches consistently in their
lives, their work, their treatment
of staff and in their relationship
with others
We
will always make time and a safe
space for colleagues and
participants to share their feelings
and grievances. |
