The South Asian Peace Alliance was
established in 2006 and is committed
to transforming conflict,
particularly in places where
structural violence prevails, by
learning from common needs, shared
experience and cross regional
insights. The founding principle is
that active non-violence (ahimsa) is
the means through which sustainable
peace can be achieved. SAPA is
unique at this time.
It builds a consciously non-violent,
regional, action based alliance in
South Asia.
PCA represents
Sri Lanka in this network in the
area of peace education.
